How to
manage your weight
Many people consult
Jonathan about their problems with regard to weight. The dynamics
of food and eating are somewhat complex and often are formed early
in life in the family of origin.
To help the client
make long lasting change Jonathan explores with the client not only
the details of what the client is eating but also the beliefs and
values that underlie the behaviour assisting the client to make a
change in patterns of thinking and especially at the level of identity
using hypnosis to consolidate the cognitive work which includes an
amount of metaphor work-
metaphors are wonderful for working at a subconscious level.
Jonathan would
also encourage the client to keep a food diary which makes the process
of how much food the person is actually eating clearer as well as
practical things like waiting a while to see if the person is really
hungry or whether it is an emotional hunger so that the nourishment
comes from within the person as well as from the food that the person
is eating.
He would also
make the person a personalised cassette from each session to play
at home.
